Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

This role supports a construction project in Rocky View County, focusing on commercial and light industrial electrical work. You will work in an active construction environment, performing installations, troubleshooting, and general electrical construction tasks on a project-based schedule with premium shift opportunities. This is not an entry-level position and requires strong commercial or industrial electrical experience and confidence working on active sites.

Looking to hire a high volume of tradespeople throughout the summer for a long term project.

Responsibilities

  • Perform commercial and light industrial electrical installations on a large project, including distribution, lighting, equipment connections, and general electrical construction tasks.
  • Install, bend, and run conduit and pipe, including cable trays and low‑voltage runs, ensuring clean cable management and adherence to project specifications.
  • Pull wire and cables safely and efficiently, following site procedures and maintaining organized routing throughout the facility.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and drawings to plan work, determine material requirements, and execute installations accurately.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, identify issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
  • Follow all safe work practices, site procedures, and regulatory requirements, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety certifications.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Electrician status preferred; higher-level registered electrical apprentices may be considered.
  • Strong commercial or industrial electrical experience in active construction or industrial-style environments.
  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Elevated Work Platform / Aerial Lift certification
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site.

Shifts & Environment:

  • Day shift: 7:00am-4:00pm
  • Afternoon shift 2:00pm-12:00am
  • Afternoon shift premium
  • Regular overtime available
