Job description

Exterior Service Technician
Ames / Central Iowa | Full-Time | Up to $25/hour Based on Experience
Be the Person the Team Calls When Something Doesn't Look Right
Waddle Exteriors is hiring an experienced Exterior Service Technician to handle residential repairs, service calls and troubleshooting across our Central Iowa market.
This is not an entry-level labor position. We're looking for someone who understands how roofing and exterior systems work, can diagnose the source of a problem and knows how to make a quality repair.
Your experience may come from roofing, siding, gutters, exterior remodeling or residential construction. What matters most is that you know the work and can solve problems in the field.
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose roof leaks, exterior damage and other service issues
  • Complete roofing repairs including shingles, flashing and related components
  • Perform siding and gutter repairs as needed
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine the right repair rather than simply treating the symptom
  • Handle warranty and customer service work
  • Complete smaller exterior repair projects
  • Work alongside Waddle's production and field teams
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal team members about what you find
  • Maintain quality and safety standards on every job

What We're Looking For
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of residential roofing and exterior construction
  • Previous roofing, siding, gutter, exterior remodeling or related construction experience
  • Ability to diagnose problems independently in the field
  • Comfortable working on ladders, roofs and outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Dependable and able to manage service work without constant supervision
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Pay & Benefits
  • Up to $25/hour based on experience
  • Full-time, year-round opportunity
  • Company vehicle provided for work during the day
  • Medical, dental and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Opportunity to become a go-to technical resource within the field team

Vehicle & Territory
You'll report to a Waddle company location to pick up your work vehicle each day and then travel to customer homes and job sites throughout the Ames, Des Moines and Central Iowa area.
The company vehicle is for business use during the workday.
Why This Role Matters
Our service team needs someone who doesn't just know how to install a product, but understands why an exterior system is failing and how to fix it correctly.
If you're an experienced exterior tradesperson who likes troubleshooting, working independently and being the person others rely on to solve difficult field problems, we'd like to talk with you.
