Software Tester will need to perform basic entry level QA on  internal applications. This position will create and execute software test plans and test cases focused on functionality and usability of the products to ensure a healthy user experience. This position is expected to adhere to SDLC methodologies and QA best-practice procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Looking for a Test Analyst to conduct UAT process and assess the system during the software development life cycle.
  • This candidate will play a role in the test planning, test design, test scripting, and test execution within the test life cycle.
  • Actively use the software being tested, use every function and tool, search for results regarding performance, bugs, and any other failures.
  • Communicate testing status and record all bugs/issues encountered during testing.
  • Candidate will design, create, implement, maintain, and execute test scenarios, test plans, and test cases/scripts, using test methodologies that ensure exhaustive & comprehensive testing of assigned applications & solutions against established acceptance criteria.
  • Participate, as requested, in sprint-related sessions and provide input into testing scope and risk analysis, development of acceptance criteria, and estimated test effort.
  • Consistently follow and support documented QA processes and procedures to ensure a high quality test approach, as well as a quality test deliverable to the recipient user.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA and product owner/stakeholders to improve overall quality by emphasizing defect prevention, usability and functional enhancements throughout the development process.
  • Possess/develop the ability to install and use the applications, troubleshoot issues, backup & restore DB's, create and modify scripts to extract and analyse data that will expedite testing and assist with issue resolution.
Qualifications
  • Identify, analyze and track defects using assigned toolset, and provide detailed and complete defect reports with regular updates to keep others informed of status. Drive for expedient resolution of defects and validate fixes in a timely manner.
  • Possess strong analytical and technical aptitude, and exhibit ability to build technical problem-solving skills to expedite root cause analysis and resolution of issues encountered within the test environment, during test execution, or other QA-related activities.
  • Must be self-motivated and results-driven with a sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Possess/build proficiency with Windows Operating Systems, MAC/IOS and browsers to include IE/Chrome/Firefox/others.
  • Be proficient in analyzing test projects and estimating QA work effort with a high degree of accuracy. Actively participate in workshops and status meetings to provide input on test status, roadblocks and impediments, and assist in expediting resolution to ensure on-time completion of high-quality test deliverables.
  • Must have well-developed verbal & written communication skills, ability to understand and adapt technical concepts & verbiage to non-technical recipients and communicate effectively in meetings and on calls, via email, training sessions and/or written artifacts for downstream consumption.
  • Build a strong understanding of assigned test modules and applications in order to work independently, with minimal supervision required, and with a desire for high quality test.
  • Strong process advocate with an acute attention to detail and desire to continually improve the testing process.
  • Partner with developers, product owner, and the user community as required to resolve quality issues quickly.
