Border Paving Ltd. Is seeking a Quality Control Tester to support our paving, crushing and gravel pit operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable working independently and takes pride in doing quality work. The successful candidate will travel to job sites and gravel pits, perform material testing, collect samples, complete basic reports and help ensure our products meet quality standards.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

  • Collect and test aggregate, gravel and asphalt samples at pits, plants and job sites
  • Record tests results accurately, complete basic reports and communicate test results
  • Maintain testing equipment and work areas
  • Travel to various work locations throughout Alberta, including remote job sites and gravel pits
  • Work independently in outdoor environments
  • Follow company safety policies and safe work procedures

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working outdoors
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying and handling testing equipment and samples
  • Able to work out of town and in remote areas
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Previous related experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (driver's abstract required prior to hiring)
