Apprentice Technician

As an Apprentice Technician at Rohrman Auto, you'll develop hands-on diagnostic and repair skills alongside experienced technicians in a well-equipped, manufacturer-trained shop environment. Whether you're fresh out of tech school or building on early shop experience, this is your launchpad to a rewarding, long-term career in automotive service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders with accuracy and efficiency, following dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and complete repairs; document all work performed and time logged on the repair order.
  • Communicate promptly with service advisors when additional work is needed or when completion timelines may change.
  • Save and tag warranty parts as required; road test vehicles when necessary to confirm repair quality.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and stay current on technical service bulletins.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and operate all tools and equipment safely in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Report safety issues immediately to management and handle all dealership-owned tools and equipment responsibly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school coursework or 3โ€“6 months of shop experience preferred.
  • ASE certification not required at entry level but strongly encouraged as part of career advancement.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding shop environment.
  • Own a basic set of personal hand tools (specialty tools provided by the dealership).
