To thrive as an Entry Level Tankerman, you need a basic understanding of marine operations, safety protocols, and hazardous materials handling, typically supported by a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with a Tankerman endorsement. Familiarity with transfer equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to Coast Guard regulations are essential. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication help ensure safe and efficient cargo transfers.
