Job description

Experienced Multi-Head Embroidery Machine Operator

Full-Time | Modern Production Facility | Fort Worth, TX

Join a Growing Technology-Driven Apparel Manufacturer

Underground Threads is a rapidly growing custom apparel manufacturer located in Fort Worth, Texas, approximately one mile south of TCU. We produce premium decorated apparel for businesses, schools, sports organizations, major e-commerce brands, and customers throughout the United States.

As our embroidery department continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced embroidery machine operator who takes pride in producing high-quality work, understands commercial embroidery production, and enjoys working in a clean, organized, technology-driven environment.

This is not an entry-level position. Previous commercial embroidery machine experience is required.

Job Summary

As an Experienced Multi-Head Embroidery Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating commercial embroidery equipment to produce high-quality embroidered apparel while maintaining production efficiency and exceptional quality standards.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently, understands embroidery production workflows, and can identify and resolve common production issues with minimal supervision.

If you enjoy producing outstanding work, take pride in your craftsmanship, and want to become part of a growing company that values quality and teamwork, we'd like to meet you.

Primary Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating commercial multi-head embroidery machines

• Hooping garments accurately and consistently

• Loading and changing thread colors

• Monitoring production throughout each embroidery run

• Inspecting embroidery quality during and after production

• Identifying and correcting thread breaks, bird nesting, thread tension issues, and registration problems

• Changing needles as required

• Maintaining clean, organized embroidery workstations

• Preparing garments for embroidery production

• Reading production orders and following customer specifications

• Verifying thread colors, garment styles, placement, and stitch quality

• Completing production orders accurately and efficiently

• Performing routine daily machine cleaning and preventive maintenance

• Working closely with production management to meet daily production goals

Required Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates should have experience operating commercial embroidery equipment such as:

• BAI

• Tajima

• Barudan

• SWF

• Happy

• Melco

• ZSK

• Brother PR Series

or other commercial embroidery equipment.

Experience with both single-head and multi-head machines is welcomed.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years of commercial embroidery production experience

• Experience operating multi-head embroidery equipment

• Strong understanding of hooping techniques

• Experience working with various garment types

• Knowledge of stabilizers and backing materials

• Experience troubleshooting embroidery production issues

• Understanding of thread tension adjustments

• Experience replacing needles and performing basic machine maintenance

• Ability to maintain consistent embroidery quality throughout production

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to work independently

• Strong organizational skills

• Reliable attendance

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Experience With Digitizing Is a Plus

While not required, experience with embroidery digitizing software such as Wilcom, Pulse, Hatch, Chroma, or similar platforms would be considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

• Good color recognition for thread selection

• Excellent hand-eye coordination

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail

What Makes Underground Threads Different?

We believe experienced embroidery professionals deserve an environment where they can do their best work.

Our production facility is:

• Clean and climate controlled

• Organized and professionally managed

• Equipped with modern production technology

• Focused on quality rather than rushing products out the door

• Built around teamwork and continuous improvement

We value employees who bring experience, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

The Kind of Person Who Excels Here

The best embroidery operators naturally notice details that others miss.

They care about perfect thread paths, clean lettering, proper registration, and producing garments they would be proud to wear themselves.

They solve problems instead of working around them.

They understand that every garment represents a customer who expects exceptional quality.

If that sounds like you, you'll fit right in.

This Position Is Probably Not a Good Fit If...

• You have never operated commercial embroidery equipment.

• You prefer constant supervision rather than working independently.

• You rush through work without paying attention to quality.

• You are uncomfortable troubleshooting embroidery production issues.

We are looking for professionals who already understand commercial embroidery production and want to become part of a company committed to quality.

Build Your Future With Underground Threads

We're looking for experienced embroidery professionals who want more than just another production job. We are building a team of skilled craftspeople who take pride in their work, support one another, and contribute to the continued growth of our company.

If you are dependable, detail-oriented, experienced in commercial embroidery production, and committed to producing exceptional work every day, we encourage you to apply.

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your experience.
