Job description

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a full time Automation Analyst! This is a hybrid position based in Center City Philadelphia that requires onsite work quarterly.
Job Summary:
The Automation Analyst supports the Reporting & DevOps department by analyzing and documenting operational workflows, translating business requirements into structured specifications for the engineering team, and executing automation builds within internal tools using the department's established module library. Working closely with the Software Architect and Data Engineers, this role serves as the connector between business process needs and technical delivery. This is an entry-level position with a defined growth path into engineering, designed for someone with strong analytical instincts, clear communication skills, and a deep curiosity for how data and systems drive operational outcomes.
Key Accountabilities:
Own the documentation of automation requests, translating business workflows into decision trees and requirements that engineering can build against. Execute automation builds within internal tools using the department's established module library, ensuring outputs meet defined standards before handoff. Support the Automation workstream by maintaining accurate records of active automations, monitoring for issues, and communicating status to relevant stakeholders. Operate as a reliable bridge between business process owners and the technical team, reducing back-and-forth and protecting engineering capacity for complex build work.
Essential Duties:
  1. Analyze and document operational workflows, translating business process requirements into decision trees and structured specifications for the engineering team.
  2. Prepare automation build packages including data extracts from the data warehouse and workflow documentation, executing builds within internal tools using the department's established module library as technical proficiency develops.
  3. Monitor active automations for issues, communicate status to relevant stakeholders, and escalate technical failures to the engineering team with clear problem statements.
  4. Support cross-functional collaboration across the Reporting, Applications, and Automation workstreams by maintaining accurate records and contributing to process improvement efforts

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience Level: 0-2 years of experience in a data, analytics, or operations role; demonstrated ability to document and analyze business processes
  • Knowledge: Business process analysis; data concepts and how information flows through operational systems; basic understanding of relational databases
  • Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; clear written and verbal communication; ability to document complex workflows in structured formats such as decision trees or process maps

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science or Data-related discipline
