JOB SUMMARY


The Advanced X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic imaging and intraoperative procedures in a surgical clinic setting. This role ensures high-quality imaging, supports procedural efficiency, maintains regulatory compliance, maintains imaging equipment, and contributes to optimized patient throughput and physician satisfaction. ย This role supports physicians, enhances patient care, and ensures operational efficiency in a surgical clinic setting.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Clinical Imaging & Procedural Support

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic exams using proper positioning and radiation safety protocols
  • Provide intraoperative C-arm support for General Surgery and Wound Care procedures
  • Ensure adherence to sterile technique when operating in procedural environments
  • Review EMR imaging orders for accuracy and completeness


Operational Efficiency

  • Transmit images promptly to PACS and confirm image quality prior to physician review
  • Support on-time case starts and same-day add-on imaging
  • Maximize daily imaging volume while maintaining quality standards
  • Maintain readiness of imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies


Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles and state regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation, charge entry, and image archiving
  • Support infection prevention protocols and equipment sterilization standards
  • Assist with training and satellite clinic coverage as needed


Administrative Support

  • Manage phone inquiries related to imaging
  • Prepare CDs, process image releases, and manage outside film integration
  • Ensure accurate and timely charge capture

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with digital imaging systems and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) preferred.
  • Ability to operate x-ray equipment and perform routine maintenance checks.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, charge entry, and image processing.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move and position patients, and lift equipment as needed.ย
