Job description

Description Supervise and implement operations and programs at various Sports and Recreation Complexes. Maintain general order and integrity of the programs. Inspect facility and the surrounding area to help ensure safe and proper conduct of patrons.

Maintains discipline and encourages compliance with safety rules and regulations. Assist the public by answering questions in person, by email or by phone and perform related duties as assigned by the Manager. Examples of Duties Participates in the maintenance, safety, and sanitary operation of the assigned facility.

Perform other duties in connection with the operation of the facility as directed by the Manager. Bat testing, maintains rosters, protest resolutions, submits scores, etc. Knowledge and implementation of sport league rules & guidelines as well as league scheduling.

Investigates complaints and reports them to the proper authorities. Renders first aid and summon medical assistance when necessary. Communicate effectively with the public, staff, and officials.

Maintains discipline and encourages compliance with safety rules and regulations. Enforces City of Holland ordinances. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent. Preferably a Sports Management degree from an accredited college. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation requirements and practices for the facility.

Basic knowledge of first aid methods. Interpersonal skills are necessary to inform the public effectively and to enforce laws, ordinances, regulations, and safety rules with firmness, tact, and impartiality. Some knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of the parks/recreation field.

Ability to follow instructions and carry them out effectively. Ability to maintain records and to prepare reports with minimum direction or supervision. Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to courteously dealing with the public.

Supplemental Information WORKING CONDITIONS: Work includes outside working conditions with periodic exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Work includes exposure to dust, dirt, noise, moving objects, and chemicals.
