Job description

As a PT Mechanic/Technician Apprentice, you will be trained and mentored in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment used by the Company in the transportation of and handling of freight in a safe, efficient, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, single and tandem axle diesel over-the-road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, propane and diesel-powered industrial forklifts, over-the-road and city trailer, Company vehicles and pick-up trucks, and various converter gear. Associates in this position are entry level employees working as an apprentice.
You will be trained and mentored in the following: Track completed and uncompleted work to maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedule and customer commitments; Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on the component parts and systems of trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts; Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other type of breakdown or potential failure; Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system test, brake adjustments, and tire inflation; Repair or rebuild all or part of a system of assigned equipment as needed.
