Basic Job Functions
The Rotational Associate Technician position is an entry-level position into our Field Technician careers. An Associate Technician assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility-scale solar energy systems. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, an Associate Technician helps assemble and replace solar panels, connect electrical components, and perform routine inspections to ensure system efficiency. This position works a repeating cycle of scheduled workdays followed by scheduled days off. 


Experience:

· Basic mechanical skills required.

· Conversational English skills required.


Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Equivalent training in military, utility, or power industry a plus.

· Vocational or technical program certification preferred.


Physical Requirements:

· Bending, kneeling, twisting, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, the ability to climb ladders, and wear PPE for extended periods of time. Ability to work in high and low temperatures, sun exposure, and navigate on uneven ground on foot.

· Ability to differentiate between different colors to manage color-coded wiring

· Good hand-eye coordination


Required Skills/Competencies:

· Valid Driver’s License.

· Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, equipment, and safety procedures

· Willingness to learn and ability to follow directions

· Perform arithmetic and algebra computations accurately.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams.

· Must demonstrate the ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.

· Strong problem-solving skills.


Essential Responsibilities:

· Perform to quarterly key performance indicators, such as actual versus expected energy generation, on-time planned maintenance, and support overall plant and equipment efficiency.

· Learning from advanced technicians and completing all assigned duties.

· Ensure a safe work environment by strict adherence to company protocols.

· Responsible for personal safety, quality and schedule adherence.

· Learn, understand, and comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.

· Adhere to company documentation, protocols, and systems.

· Assist advanced technician with site preparations and work order completions.

· Adhere to Company vehicle maintenance standards and safety standards.

· Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas as assigned

· Maintain work area and site housecleaning to 5S standards.

· Other duties as assigned


Reporting Relationships:

· Will report to most senior site manager or supervisor depending on site organizational structure.

· May have tasks assigned by advanced technical staff.


Travel:

· Travel may be required depending on the needs of the Company.
