The Role
We are currently seeking an entry-level Residential Solar Designer to join our growing design and engineering team at our Maryland office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to launch their career in the solar industry. Working under
the guidance of our Solar Design Engineer, the successful candidate will contribute to the design of residential PV systems and develop their technical skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:
• Support the design and engineering team in creating preliminary solar designs and completing design packages for construction.
• Develop and complete system designs for residential roof-mounted PV systems using Aurora solar design software (preferred) and other design tools.
• Assist in gathering required site information through remote technology tools and support the on-site survey process as needed.
• Assist in ensuring project designs comply with building codes, AHJ requirements, engineering best practices, safety codes, regulatory codes, and NEC standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of new solar technologies and products and contribute feedback on product offerings.
• Collaborate with installation and project management teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.

Qualifications:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
• NABCEP PV Associate (PVAP) certification required
• Experience with Aurora solar design software strongly preferred
• Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code and photovoltaic systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
