Description We are seeking a motivated and self-driven Geologist to join our growing team in Ventura, California. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects serving both public and private sector clients throughout Southern California. Observe and document site conditions for grading, earthwork, and construction projects. Perform field density testing and support concrete sampling and testing activities. Log soil and rock samples and assist with the interpretation of subsurface conditions. Prepare field documentation, boring logs, maps, cross-sections, and technical exhibits. Assist in the preparation of geotechnical and engineering geology reports. Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications and geotechnical recommendations. Support laboratory testing and other field, office, and laboratory activities as needed. Collaborate with senior geologists and engineers on a wide range of infrastructure, commercial, and public works projects. Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, Engineering Geology, or a related field. 1-2 years of professional geology or geotechnical field experience. California Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying field conditions and travel to project sites as needed. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ventura, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.00/hr.
