We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator to support our ice cream novelties production lines. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and optimizing automated and semi-automated equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality production. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
• Operate, monitor, and adjust automated and semi-automated production lines including packaging equipment, freezers, fruit feeders, robotics, and conveyors
• Perform equipment changeovers and setting adjustments to meet product specifications; assist in developing and improving SOPs to reduce changeover time
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor operational issues such as misfeeds, product jams, sealing defects, and temperature fluctuations; escalate major issues per maintenance protocols
• Utilize RedZone software to monitor cycle rates, track downtime, measure OEE, and enter real-time performance data
• Collaborate with supervisors and process specialists to analyze performance data and implement improvements in throughput, waste reduction, and equipment uptime
• Assist with weekly equipment tear-down, sanitation, and reassembly; support Quality team with pre-operational inspections
• Follow all GMPs, food safety standards, HACCP guidelines, and allergen control procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with 5S standards
• Communicate effectively across production lines to ensure smooth operations and quick issue resolution
• Accurately complete production, sanitation, and downtime documentation
• Support training and development of entry-level employees on machine operation, SOPs, and SSOPs
• Perform additional duties as needed to meet production goals
Schedule
• Every Friday
• 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
Compensation
• $20.50/hr. to start
• Opportunities to increase pay with experience and performance
Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
• Basic math and computer skills
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Reliable attendance every Friday
• Team members may also be called upon to support production or other departments as needed
Experience
• Previous machine operator experience required
• Experience with automated or semi-automated production equipment preferred
• Familiarity with RedZone, OEE tracking, or similar manufacturing software a plus
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs as required
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds from floor to chest height multiple times per shift
• Ability to perform repetitive motions using shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers
• This position may require working at heights when performing cleaning duties
Work Environment
• Work performed in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and moving equipment
• This role involves working around industrial machinery and may include exposure to electromagnetic fields generated by production equipment
• Exposure to food allergens, including peanuts and tree nuts - including contact with skins, oils, and dust generated during processing and grinding
