Job description

The title business analyst will research, evaluate, and recommend the implementation of new technologies and applications to improve existing systems to meet the company's title department needs. This position will manage and prioritize projects, assist in designing and developing systems to attain maximum efficiencies and minimize costs, complete testing and provide technical support and training. SoftPro experience strongly preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Common job activities are listed below; actual position responsibilities may vary. Refer to your manager or human resources for specific duties and performance expectations.

1.ย  Develop, plan, direct and implement technology projects. (20-40%)

  • Analyze application issues and recommend solutions/system changes. Prepare detailed written documentation of recommendations.
  • Develop project plans, provide direction to coordinate project activities to meet project goals.
  • Complete configuration changes, test, deploy and support process, workflow and application changes.
  • Determine software needs to meet business objectives, such as needs for customization or external applications. Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend appropriate technologies to company management.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of company business operations to assist in meeting the information needs of the company.

2.ย  Create and maintain procedural documentation. (20-40%)

3.ย  Test and debug title and escrow business applications. Perform daily systems monitoring and maintenance.ย  (20-30%)

4.ย  Perform end user support for assigned applications.ย  (10-15%)

  • Provide industry and technical support as requested or assigned. Respond to issues and questions regarding assigned applications and other software as needed.
  • Help train end users on application use.
  • Utilize information networks to promote technology, where appropriate.

5.ย  Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5-10%)

  • Meet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.
  • Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.
  • Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Technology or other related field or equivalent knowledge or work

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience using title operating software; requires knowledge and experience and SQL Server Reporting Services: knowledge of SoftPro 2.0 is strong preferred.
  • Real estate industry experience.
  • Title or title closing experience.
  • Experience with Visual Basics.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, analyze, think creatively about solutions to business problems, and initiate and manage change.
  • Ability to translate technical information in to user-friendly language.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.

Wage:ย ย  $86,000 - $99,000 annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience.ย  Potential for annual discretionary bonus.
