Job description

Graduate Engineer I, Electrical
Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Engineer I, Electrical supporting our MEP team. The ideal candidate will have experience in power and lighting design and should be capable of performing routine calculations, as well as assisting in the development of construction plans and specifications under the supervision of senior staff.
What you will do:
  • Provides support on the design, development, and modification of electrical systems, components, and equipment based on project requirements and specifications. This includes creating/reviewing detailed schematics, conducting feasibility studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Participates in electrical engineering projects from initiation to completion, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Complies with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design, implementation, and maintenance phases.
  • Collaborates on risk assessments, developing safety protocols, and actively contributes to the creation of a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Maintains accurate records of design changes, project milestones, and equipment performance to support future reference and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to seamlessly integration electrical systems.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Architecture/Engineering.
  • Design, layout, and circuiting equipment for electrical systems, (i.e. lighting systems, HVAC and Plumbing equipment, etc.)
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, architects, and project stakeholders including owners
  • Working knowledge of NEC and IESNA
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC
