Job description

Job Specifications: Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods/tools, and manufacturing processes.  Strong math skills, good written and oral communication skills, knowledge of the XL products, strong prioritization and organizational skills, attention to detail, risk analysis and critical thinking/reasoning, troubleshooting/problem-solving, interpersonal skills/team player, and ability to handle stress are essential.  Experience working with various types of material is a requirement as the foresight of how the different materials react to machining affects the outcome of the part extensively. Provide input for new gage/fixture designs relative to GD&T and CMM measurement accessibility. Working in a team atmosphere to encompass a smooth flow across all operations.

 

Primary skills and responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and quality inspection processes.
  • CMM Operation (Manual and DCC machines, CMM Manager software).
  • Quality inspection checks 1st piece, hourly, final, last piece, backward recall on non-conforming product and implementing non-conforming product hold tags.
  • Gauge Calibration/ Gage R&R
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Support day-to-day quality and production deliverables and initiatives. Lead teams to support continuous improvement efforts in Bldg 1 and 2 (5S, internal audits, organizational knowledge)
  • Document testing and root cause analysis for internal or external problems.
  • Create Work instructions provide feedback and review Manufacturing issues that emerge through the work and assembly process with QM/ME on the solutions to address the issue.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards.
  • Work pieces on CMM machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Other responsibilities may be added or assumed based on necessity

Prerequisites / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
  • Participate in continued education courses as required for new projects and career growth within XL (TQM/CQT/CQE)
  • Knowledge of CMM software, ability to Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures
