Job description

itD is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of cloud-based software solutions supporting highly regulated production environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in software quality assurance, test automation, and cloud infrastructure, with a proven track record of delivering scalable, high-quality software through automated testing and cross-functional collaboration.

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be available to support U.S.-based teams and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation as needed.

Duration: 11 months

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute automated test solutions to validate the quality, reliability, and performance of cloud-based applications.

  • Troubleshoot complex software defects using debugging tools, simulations, and custom automation scripts to identify root causes and drive resolution.

  • Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, installation guides, test plans, and training materials to support system deployments.

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for issue investigation, providing timely communication and resolution updates to internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of software defects, test results, customer requirements, and system interactions.

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support production environments and respond to critical incidents when required.

Internal Responsibilities:
  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.

  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.

  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).

  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.

  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).

  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing automated test solutions using Python, Go, or similar programming languages.

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Apache Spark, and AWS Lambda.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex software issues using debugging tools, automation, and scripting.

  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen currently residing within the contiguous 48 United States to support regulated cloud environments.

  • Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for production incident support.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience working in regulated cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP-compliant systems.

  • Experience with Docker, Apache Kafka, and other open-source technologies.

  • Experience with Jira-Xray or similar test management platforms.

  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices.

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.

  • Background in security software quality assurance, including web or email security solutions.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.
