Power the delivery engine of a mission-critical VA cloud platform! As the CI/CD Platform Engineer, you will operate the CI/CD platform infrastructure including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, and Terraform Enterprise.

Position Description: The Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Platform Engineer administers, maintains, and evolves the CI/CD toolchain including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus artifact repository, and Terraform Enterprise for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipeline execution across 21,000+ pipelines.

Minimum/General Experience: 3 years of experience in CI/CD platform engineering and administration

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or related field

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent experience administering Jenkins including master/agent architecture, shared pipeline libraries, plugin lifecycle management, and high-availability configuration for large-scale pipeline execution
  • Excellent knowledge of Nexus Repository Manager including hosted, proxy, and group repository configuration for Maven, npm, Docker, Helm, and raw artifact types
  • Excellent ability to manage Bitbucket Server/Data Center including repository administration, branch permissions, merge request workflows, webhook configuration, and Jenkins/Terraform Enterprise integration
  • Excellent experience administering Terraform Enterprise including workspace management, VCS integration, Sentinel policy-as-code enforcement, and team access controls
  • Excellent experience managing CI/CD pipelines at scale including performance optimization, agent capacity planning, and failure analysis across multiple environment tiers
  • Excellent knowledge of container image build pipelines including Docker builds, image signing, container registry management, and Kubernetes deployment pipeline integration
  • Above average experience integrating security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning, IaC scanning) into CI/CD pipelines and enforcing security gates
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS deployment patterns including Helm chart management, GitOps workflows, and pipeline-driven deployment to multi-environment EKS clusters
  • Experience supporting a federal agency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Acceptable Credentials

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administers and maintains the CI/CD platform including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, and Terraform Enterprise
  • Manages Jenkins master/agent infrastructure including capacity planning, plugin lifecycle, shared library maintenance, and performance tuning
  • Administers Nexus Repository Manager for all artifact types, enforces retention policies, manages storage utilization, and ensures artifact integrity across the software supply chain
  • Manages Bitbucket repository infrastructure including branch permissions, merge request workflows, and webhook integrations triggering Jenkins and Terraform Enterprise pipelines
  • Administers Terraform Enterprise workspaces, VCS integrations, and Sentinel policy-as-code enforcement
  • Collaborates with DevSecOps Engineers to integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning, and IaC scanning into all pipeline templates
  • Enforces environment segregation through pipeline gate controls
  • Supports delivery of the Scheduling Event Bus within 180 days by providing CI/CD pipeline infrastructure for event bus component builds, testing, and deployment automation
  • Participates in daily Change Control Board (CCB) meetings for CI/CD platform changes and ensures all production changes have documented backout plans and post-implementation validation
  • Maintains CI/CD platform software on VA TRM-approved versions, tracks Jenkins, Nexus, Bitbucket, and Terraform Enterprise versions against end-of-support dates

Compensation & Benefits: The annual projected pay range for this position is $75,699 - $102,904 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
