Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Juno Beach, FL that is seeking a Project Estimator to join their project estimating team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing and managing cost estimates for various projects, focusing on accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the field of project estimating.
Day to day responsibilities include leading and preparing estimates, the development of pricing models, and evaluating new technological innovations in the industry. The Project Estimator will have the ability to grow their skillset, as our team also works on a large portfolio of technologies including wind, utility scale solar, distributed solar, energy storage, transmission & distribution lines, substations, water treatment, 5G & fiber, hydrogen, pipelines, and fossil generation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for new and existing projects
* Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary plans to support estimating scope quantification
* Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and teams to gather and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates
* Perform value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements
* Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating processes
* Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to account for potential project uncertainties
* Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients
* Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the best value for the company
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field
* Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior team members
* Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in the field of project estimating
Preferred Qualifications:
* Internship or practical experience in management, engineering, or a related field
* Experience with cost estimation software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, WinEst, CostX, or similar)
* Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
