Job description

What a People Team Intern does

This role is a generalist intern position with three prioritized areas of ownership: With intentions of allowing the employee to gravitate towards a preferred field while learning business operations.

1) Payroll & Benefits — Primary / Weekly

  • Support weekly payroll preparation and reconciliation: compile inputs, verify timesheets/timecard exceptions, prepare payroll packet for manager review.
  • Manage benefits workflows: audit, process enrollments/changes/terms. 
  • Maintain payroll/benefits documentation and ensure files are audit-ready.

2) Executive Assistant / Generalist — Secondary / Daily & Project

  • Calendar management, event coordination, meeting agenda prep, and note-taking 
  • Arrange travel (bookings, travel packets), manage expense receipt tracking and prepare expense reports for review.
  • Route documents for signatures and follow up; perform ad-hoc executive support tasks (prepare decks/spreadsheets, email triage).
  • Conduct brief, focused AI/LLM research assignments (summaries, prompt testing)

3) Building Management Support — Tertiary / Weekly & Monthly

  • Maintain lease & vendor tracker, coordinate vendor communications and work orders, and process building bills.
  • Support routine inspections, fire-code reminders, and annual compliance tasks.
  • Assist with vendor reconciliation and monthly vendor follow-ups.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision; excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets/Docs/Calendar); excellent spreadsheet skills a strong plus. 
  • Comfortable with basic payroll/benefits concepts and eager to learn HRIS/payroll tools (e.g., Paycom).
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI/LLMs — able to run short experiments, summarize findings, and document results.
  • Reliable, proactive, strong attention to detail, and capable of escalating issues appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Current FLC student or equivalent; coursework in Katz School of Business.
  • Passion for skiing or snowboarding and enthusiasm for working in the resort/outdoor recreation sector.
  • Availability for 10-30 hours/week and occasional In Office Work (In town)
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written/verbal communication.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in the skiing or outdoors industry
  • Experience and Curiosity with AI tools 

Working Environment/ Physical Activities:

Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Constantly engaging in normal conversation, in person and over the telephone.  Occasionally climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling. Potential exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.
