Job description

Standard Job Description
Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience developing software in any of the following languages: Java, C++, JavaScript, Python
• Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools (Gitlab, ArgoCD)
• Must be a US Citizen; Must have a current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills
• Recent on-program experience as a technical lead (e.g., architecture design, technical research, project management, define/enforce code quality standards, etc.)
• Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java or Python
• Recent on-program Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience (e.g., automation, incident management, monitoring, optimization, programming/scripting, metrics, security, etc.)
• Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash)
• Familiarity with the Space Domain
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional results
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
• Active TS/SCI security clearance• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00
