Job description

Bob Barker Company is seeking a Distribution Team Member II to play a vital role in servicing our customers through operating efficiently in our Utah Distribution Center. As part of the Distribution Team, this person will help improve performance and efficiency while building foundational skills in warehouse operations and/or value-added services. This position contributes directly to customer satisfaction, team success, and the overall mission of Bob Barker Company by preparing, picking, packing, or shipping orders correctly and on time and by managing and maintaining inventory.

Responsibilities

1. Outbound

  • Must be able to operate narrow aisle powered equipment.
  • Responsible for processing, inspecting, and packaging orders to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare Bill of Lading (BOL) and packing slips.
  • Properly pick mixed orders to pallet for preparation of shipment.
  • Use RF scanner and tablet to ensure accuracy of picking locations.
  • Plus all Distribution Team Member I responsibilities related to Outbound:
    • Pick partial case quantities of products into boxes/totes with the correct product, quantity, and speed to meet customer demands.
    • Collaborate with the Cycle Count team to maintain inventory accuracy.
    • Set up and prepare workspaces for efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
    • Detect defective materials and report shortages.

2. Inbound

  • Verify, identify, and inspect incoming products, referring to purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Prepare receiving reports, noting, and recording shortages and damaged materials.
  • Establish if incoming materials require inspection or testing and maintain lot traceable documentation.
  • Use forklift or designated material-handling equipment to transport materials to work or storage areas.
  • Enter inventory transactions (in or out) into computer system.
  • Advanced Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) training as applicable.

3. Value-Added Services (VAS)

  • Responsible for maintaining the flow of goods to and from the VAS area.
  • Use RF scanner and tablet to pick and stage VAS orders.
  • Maintain required VAS inventory level as needed.
  • Support all VAS processes as needed.
  • Quality checks and ships VAS orders.
  • Plus all Distribution Team Member I responsibilities related to VAS:
    • Set up and prepare silk screening machines for operation according to work orders.
    • Operate computer systems to generate patterns.
    • Operate manual and automatic presses, dryers, and light tables.
    • Apply emulsions and inks as required for production.
    • Prepare components and packaging materials for assembly.
    • Count and pack small and medium parts or products into bags, cases, or other containers.
    • Utilize auto-bagger machine to create kits.
    • Verify completed units against packing lists to ensure all components are included.
    • Apply special labels to kits as required.

4. Vinyl Manufacturing

  • Assemble products or sub-assemblies of the product following standard procedures, using manufacturing equipment, sewing machines and other tools to complete work,
  • Aligning, fitting, and adjusting parts and/or machinery to meet operating requirements.
  • Refer to guidelines for performing assembly tasks, working from priority list to complete
  • Support material handling of vinyl raw materials and finished mattresses using powered equipment.

5. Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate with Team Leads regarding training needs, development obstacles, and data entry tasks (pick reversals, cycle counts).
  • Ask questions to clarify instructions and ensure accuracy.
  • Actively participate in daily/morning huddles.
  • Contribute positively to team culture by assisting others and promoting collaboration.

  • Actively support Continuous Improvement Projects.
