Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Detail Porter serves as one of the key roles in making the customer’s car exceed appearance expectations.  This position requires a team player that can work with both service and sales team members . This is an entry level Service Position and a doorway to a Service Career if your career goal is to become an Automotive Technician, Service Advisor, Parts Counter Person, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Strong attention to detail as this role is responsible to bring both new and used vehicles to pristine appearance.
  • Competent driving ability with manual transmission vehicles
  • Ability to meet the company’s production and quality standards.
  • Operate car wash in a safe and compliant manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Experience with buffing and color sanding is preferred but not required
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily with approval.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to understand sense of urgency.

This position may require evening shifts and weekend availability.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:  Position will work in well-lighted/ventilated areas.   Subject to sun exposure, breezy days, odors, etc. throughout the workday.  Fast paced.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Position requires the ability to stand, bend, talk and hear.  Frequently required to walk, stand and bend.  Occasionally required to climb stairs.   Constantly required to use hand and finger to touch, handle, write and feel.  Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.  Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Â
