Start Your IT Career - Real-World Experience

This is an entry-level position for someone eager to build a career in IT.

As a Junior Technician at RedZone Technologies, you'll work hands-on to learn about technical troubleshooting and resolving issues pertaining to hardware, software, and networking to help client environments stay up and running.

You’ll support the installation and maintenance of systems while growing alongside a team of experienced engineers who are ready to coach and collaborate. We’re looking for someone with drive, curiosity, and a strong interest in IT infrastructure and support.

What You’ll Do

Ongoing Learning

  • Hands-on learning – technical troubleshooting, issue resolution, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and virtualization tools.
  • Build foundational skills to grow into a mid-level technician or engineer role.

Technical Support & Site Visits

  • Travel to local client locations to install, configure, and troubleshoot IT systems.
  • Assist in resolving network and desktop issues.

Hardware & Software Setup

  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of routers, switches, servers, and firewalls.
  • Work with systems from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, and other major vendors.

Collaborate with Experienced Engineers

  • Learn in real time by shadowing senior team members and supporting larger projects.
  • Build foundational skills by sharing knowledge and contributing to the resolution of technical issues with the team.

Ticketing & Documentation

  • Develop an understanding of ticketing processes and systems.
  • Keep clear records of client systems, tasks performed, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Ensure all actions are properly logged for internal reference and client transparency.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Interests

  • Strong interest in IT, technology, and problem-solving.
  • Exposure to Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy) is a plus.

Technical Foundation

  • Basic understanding of networking equipment like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting desktops, printers, and common hardware/software issues.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools (Windows 10/11, Exchange, Active Directory) is helpful but not required.

Key Competencies

  • Problem-Solving: You enjoy diagnosing issues and figuring out how things work.
  • Teamwork: You’re eager to learn from others and contribute wherever possible.
  • Customer Service: You care about doing right by clients and building trust.
  • Communication: You explain technical issues in plain language and keep people in the loop.
  • Initiative: You take ownership of tasks and want to keep growing your skills.

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Your own transportation - required for occasional travel to local client sites.
  • This is a 100% in-office/on-site role.
  • Must be able to lift equipment up to 40 lbs and assist with heavier devices as needed.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development in a growing technical environment
