Job Summary:

Semtech Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and driven intern to join our AI Transformation & Product Security team for Summer 2026. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a first-year student who is eager to gain real-world experience in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity within a leading global semiconductor company. You will be paired with a mentor and supported throughout the internship to ensure a meaningful and educational experience.

Responsibilities:

Research & Documentation (30%)

  • Conduct introductory research on AI technologies, cybersecurity fundamentals, and semiconductor industry trends and compile summaries for the team

  • Help maintain internal knowledge bases, wikis, and documentation libraries related to AI tools, usage policies, and security guidelines

  • Support the creation of internal training materials and presentations related to AI literacy and security awareness programs

AI Tool Evaluation & Testing (25%)

  • Assist in gathering and organizing data to support AI model evaluation and reporting

  • Assist with testing and evaluating AI-powered productivity tools being piloted across the organization

  • Document findings and observations from tool evaluations in a clear and organized manner

Data Support & Reporting (20%)

  • Perform data entry, analysis, and basic reporting tasks using Excel, Python, or similar tools

  • Support the team with data organization and maintenance of internal tracking systems and dashboards

Cross-functional Collaboration & Learning (15%)

  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh perspectives on AI adoption and security awareness

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, completing your first year (Freshman standing) by Summer 2026

  • Preferred majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field

Qualifications:

  • Basic programming experience in Python, Java, or similar language (coursework experience accepted)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Basic understanding of AI concepts and tools (ChatGPT, AI assistants, etc.)

  • Curiosity about cybersecurity and product security concepts is strongly desired

  • No prior professional experience required - coursework projects and personal projects are welcome
