Job Description Summary

About URI:
The University of Rhode Island enrolls approximately 17,000 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs and is the State's flagship public research university, as well as the land grant and sea grant university, for the state of Rhode Island. The main campus is located in the historic village of Kingston, and the Bay Campus is located in Narragansett. Both campuses are near major beaches in a beautiful coastal community. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City.
THE WORK SCHEDULE IS IN-PERSON.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure that Academic Testing Center (ATC) facility and equipment are set up for full functionality to effectively support exam administration. Be responsible for ATC logistical operations, such as providing technical support, utilizing secure exam software, and preparing seating and materials for daily testing sessions. Respond to faculty and student questions about logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate and maintain smooth operation of the ATC by providing technical support, high-level service and technical assistance to faculty and staff. Trouble shoot as needed.
Review and approve instructor testing requests using secure exam software (RegisterBlast), flag issues and follow up with faculty. Create and print cover sheets and exams.
Support the digital accessibility of exams by providing assistive technology and auxiliary aids to students via Readspeaker assistive technology platform.
Set up testing center cameras, monitor video surveillance, and bookmark flags using Avigilon before, during, and after exam sessions.
Maintain student privacy.
Maintain emphasis on dependability and timeliness due to nature of structured testing schedule.
Engage in professional development and acquire/maintain certifications as determined appropriate by the supervisor.
Work non-standard work week, evening hours.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform additional duties as required.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Avigilon Security Camera system. RegisterBlast secure exam software. Readspeaker assistive technology platform. Personal computers; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; web-based applications such as Google Suite. Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum two years of professional technical experience.
3. Demonstrated experience in a secondary or postsecondary setting.
4. Demonstrated experience with testing procedures and protocols.
5. Demonstrated experience with RegisterBlast secure exam software and Avigilon security camera systems.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of Readspeaker Assistive Technology and Digital Accessibility.
7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
8. Demonstrated proficiency with written communication skills.
9. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
10. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
11. Must be available to work non-standard work schedule (including evening hours).

1. Demonstrated experience working with neurodivergent populations.
