Location: Field Based - United States
Travel: Up to 50-75% within the United States
Position Summary
Books-A-Million and 2nd & Charles are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Investigator to support our Asset Protection team across the United States. In this entry-level corporate role, you'll help investigate theft, fraud, and organized retail crime while partnering with store leaders and law enforcement to keep our stores, customers, and teams safe.
What You'll Do
โ€ข Investigate & Support Cases - Assist in the investigation of internal and external theft, fraud, policy violations, and ORC activity across multiple locations.
โ€ข Review & Analyze - Review CCTV, POS reports, exception data, and inventory reports to identify trends and build strong cases.
โ€ข Build & Document Cases - Prepare clear, accurate case reports in ThinkLP, maintain evidence standards, and ensure chain of custody.
โ€ข Partner & Collaborate - Work closely with the Regional Loss Prevention Manager, store teams, and law enforcement partners on active investigations and initiatives.
โ€ข Support Training & Compliance - Reinforce LP best practices, company policies, and safety standards.
โ€ข Protect Our Business - Help reduce shrink and safeguard company assets while delivering excellent customer experiences.
What We're Looking For
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
โ€ข 1-2 years of experience in retail operations, security, or loss prevention preferred
โ€ข Basic knowledge of CCTV systems and POS operations
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
โ€ข Ability to travel within the United States as needed
