The Position

The Opportunity

This position will be responsible for initiating, directing and executing scientific research, development and manufacturing process strategies to support assay development on a Roche automated slide staining platform. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories. Serves as an in-house and outside consultant. Promotes and participates in the professional development of scientists and laboratory facilities. Uses professional concepts to contribute to the development of product or process principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways.

This position is based in Tucson, AZ, on site.

  • Conducts research and development activities for products, methods and/or processes.

  • Plans and executes assigned projects; utilizes thorough technical and theoretical understanding of numerous techniques.

  • Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides/implements process or document improvements.

  • Executes experiments; participates in experimental design.

  • Shares knowledge and expertise with others; guides the technical work of junior team members.

  • Participates in project planning, process updates and contributes to experimental design.

  • Prepares and delivers presentations of project results to own or other groups.

Who you are

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Science plus 8 years of relevant experience OR

  • Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • Entry level with a Ph.D.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is $82,700 - $153,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
