Medical Laboratory Technician II Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) II performs routine laboratory testing in strict accordance with written policies and procedures under the supervision of the appropriate Section Head. The MLT II communicates information as appropriate to authorized personnel and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related biological science and eligible for certification by an approved agency.

Medical Laboratory Technician II Work Schedule
  • The Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day. Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts. Both options may include weekends.
  • Rotational coverage of holidays.
  • Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.
  • May be required to stay past schedule shift or come in early to cover unexpected needs in the department.
  • Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.
