Weโ€™re looking for an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to continue their career at Jacobs โ€“ where weโ€™ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients to make our world better.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, youโ€™ll participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects. Youโ€™ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and youโ€™ll pass your knowledge on to others. Youโ€™ll gain valuable experience in soil and groundwater sampling as well as subcontractor oversight, spending about 75% of your time in the field. Youโ€™ll balance your field work with some time spent in the office evaluating and reviewing data, writing reports and preparing project documents, and coordinating logistics for field activities.

Hereโ€™s what you'll need

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or other closely related degree.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology/procedures and assessment/evaluation of data for various environmental media.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.

Ideally you'll also have:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Local to Chattanooga, T N

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $81,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
