Job description

Position Title:
MSU Stores Technician
Oglethorpe, GA
Pay Rate:
Starting rate $21.24 with opportunity for rapid advancement
Category/Shift:
Hourly Full-Time (8am-4:30pm - Monday - Friday)
Weekends and Overtime as required
About The Role:
  • Promote a safe stores work environment and proactively contribute to the department's safety and housekeeping program
  • Participate in all morning crew safety meetings
  • Manual receiving of all material to the main Storeroom
  • Enter receipts into SAP daily (expectation is for material receipts to be entered the day the item is received)
  • Place stock material into correct bin locations
  • Process delivery tickets and pull stock material to support maintenance and mill operations
  • Shared responsibility for maintaining stored items in good condition to support operations & maintenance
  • Pickup and/or Deliver materials to the area drop zones within the Mill
  • Operate a forklift or delivery cart
  • Research material receipts when discrepancy occurs or in absence of paperwork from vendor
  • Conduct inventory counts when required
  • Process outgoing freight with Parcel and/or LTL carriers
  • Obtain job family certifications on SAP and Storeroom policy and procedures required (Requirement is to meet SAP functional knowledge standards and certify)
  • Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, face mask, and fall protection in elevated positions.
  • May be required to work extended hours and must be available for afterhours/weekend duty during annual maintenance shutdowns and upon short notice.

Quality Expectations
  • Ensure an understanding of quality policy and support efforts for a positive customer experience.
  • Aid in the execution of mill-wide quality efforts as needed to help maintain mill quality standards.

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be currently 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to function in a team environment.
  • Storeroom/Receiving or Warehousing experience preferred to include inspection of incoming materials, post entries in SAP, and stock in designated location.
  • Knowledgeable of First In/First out inventory practice and stock rotation. Forklift certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • SAP knowledge preferred to include receipts and issuing materials, reservations, entering and maintaining work orders, stock overview, and MAC Tool

Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment.
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last-minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Wear required safety equipment
