Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Production Entry Level 1 employee. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and packaging of food products in accordance with USDA and GMP standards. This is an entry-level position, perfect for candidates looking to start their career in the food industry. 

Requirements

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of raw products, following establishes recipes, guidelines, and quality standards. Including the separation and processing of raw/cooked products.
  • Package finished products efficiently and accurately, following proper labeling and packaging guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Demonstrate good problem solving and good decision-making skills.
  • Can work unsupervised for a period of time.
  • Monitor product quality and report any deviations or concerns to supervisors to ensure consistent quality control.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and GMP guidelines, including proper handling of equipment, chemicals, and raw materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates will generally have the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE AND WORK AROUND RAW MEAT AND BLOOD.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, food service regulations, health regulations and proper sanitation practices.
  • Neat and clean appearance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. 
  • Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures, supervisor instructions and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays if necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position typically requires physical effort such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and manipulating. Additional physical activities may include stooping, bending, standing, walking, and sitting.


The amount of physical effort applied varies depending on the task. 

  • Less than one pound is lifted or moved more than 70% of the time. 
  • Between 1 and 5 pounds is handled 40% to 70% of the time. 
  • Between 5 and 25 pounds is lifted or moved 15% to 40% of the time. 
  • Between 25 and 60 pounds is lifted less than 15% of the time. 
  • More than 60 pounds may occasionally be lifted or moved.

These physical efforts are typically applied while performing tasks in various body positions, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and bending. The work may also involve being in confined spaces, although this is not typical.


MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires continuous mental and visual attention. The work is either repetitive or varied and demands constant alertness to monitor the production process and to identify any defects.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Employees in this position may be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, cold, fumes, and water. Noise may also be present in the work environment. While these elements may be encountered during the course of work, they are not generally present to a degree that would be considered highly disagreeable. Overall, work is typically performed under reasonably good conditions.
