Reports to: Processing Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource in the disciplines of automation controls for operations, building automation and process equipment.
  • Knowledge of Ignition software, Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC, studio 5000,Rs Logix5000, I/O signal exchange
  • Assist in automation and controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up testing.
  • Conduct Failure Investigations and implement solutions (corrective and preventive actions) to solve automation-related issues
  • Assist in review of panel design and layout, bill of materials, and wiring schematic.
  • Develop and update of Engineering documentation including URS (User Requirements Specification), FS (Functional Specification), HDS (Hardware Design Specification and SDS (Software Design Specification).
  • Able to update Engineering Drawings, such as Electrical Diagrams, Ethernet Architecture, P&ID, etc.
  • Write-up of Commissioning and Qualification protocols and reports.
  • Develop and execute test plans to challenge the equipment functionality and summarize test results in report.
  • Able to manage small to medium automation engineering projects consisting of various contractors and consultants with little direction in cross-functional teams to implement change and improve on existing processes.
  • Assure thatall theproject elements are compliant with applicable safety, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Compliance with all rules & policiesregardinghealth safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, butisnot limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, or related fields-required
  • Minimum2+ years of hands-on experience working within food/beverage manufacturing an asset with strong knowledge if implementing, troubleshooting automation equipment including robotics and controls programming
  • Strongproficiencyusing Microsoft Excel at an expert level
  • Must havea verystrongwritten and verbal communication skills with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
