What is entry level robotics?

Entry level robotics jobs are positions designed for individuals who are new to the robotics field, typically recent graduates or those with limited professional experience. These roles may involve assisting in the design, assembly, testing, and maintenance of robotic systems under the supervision of more experienced engineers or technicians. Common responsibilities include programming robots, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting project teams in research and development. These jobs often require a background in engineering, computer science, or a related field, and provide valuable hands-on experience for career growth in robotics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level robotics professional?

To thrive as an Entry Level Robotics professional, you need a solid understanding of robotics fundamentals, programming (such as Python or C++), and often a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with robotics platforms (like ROS), CAD software, and basic electronics or automation tools is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and effective communication help individuals stand out in this collaborative and innovative field. These skills and qualities are crucial for designing, testing, and improving robotic systems in a rapidly advancing industry.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on as an entry level robotics engineer?

As an entry-level robotics engineer, you can expect to be involved in tasks such as assembling and testing robotic components, supporting software development for robotic systems, conducting experiments to validate sensors and actuators, and assisting senior engineers with troubleshooting and data analysis. Job description

Teleo, a Havoc company, is a robotics company that transforms construction heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and trucks, into autonomous robots for commercial and defense applications. Our technology enables a single operator to supervise and control multiple machines simultaneously, delivering significant productivity gains while improving operator safety and comfort.
Teleo was founded by a team of experienced technology leaders who previously led the development of Lyft's Self-Driving Car program and Google Street View. Teleo recently announced its merger with Havoc AI, a fast-growing defense technology company developing coordinated fleets of autonomous maritime vessels.
This is a unique opportunity to join a team building technology with real-world impact. You will work on cutting-edge 100,000-pound autonomous robots and engineer complex systems at the intersection of hardware, software, robotics, and AI.
Position Overview
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving / Inventory Coordinator to support day-to-day warehouse operations. This role handles incoming and outgoing shipments, keeps inventory accurate, and maintains a clean, organized workspace.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. You'll be the person who knows what's in stock, makes sure kits ship on time, and helps keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders
  • Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on time
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers (FedEx, UPS, freight)
  • Maintain shipping logs and documentation
  • Ship product kits
Inventory Management & Kitting
  • Manage inventory accuracy through regular counts and cycle checks
  • Monitor stock levels and resolve discrepancies
  • Keep storage organized and up to date in inventory systems
  • Kit components before kit shipment
  • Actively participate in supply chain planning discussions
Warehouse Organization & Maintenance
  • Keep warehouse, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized
  • Ensure materials and tools are properly labeled and stored
  • Support basic facility upkeep and safety practices

Qualifications
  • 2+ years in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory management (entry-level candidates welcome)
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable with inventory or ERP systems (or quick to learn)
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace
  • Clear communicator and team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment, working closely with engineers
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical components or assembly workflows encountered in robotics
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and task tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience reading BOMs and engineering drawings (mechanical and electrical)
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, barcoding, or process improvements
  • Exposure to supply chain, build prep, or batch production
  • Extensive experience with shipping platforms (FedEx, UPS)

$28 - $40 an hour
Work Environment
  • Warehouse/office role based in Palo Alto, CA
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting throughout the day
