    About the role:
  • We are actively seeking a Mine Systems Automation Specialist to provide technical expertise associated with the configuration, testing, verification, validation and ongoing support of existing systems and technologies that enable autonomous and manned operation of the mobile fleet.
    The role requires engagement with supplier organizations involved in delivering and supporting machine control and automation systems at Cote Gold, including coordination on configuration, testing, issue resolution, and ongoing support. The role may also participate in relevant industry forums and support interactions with government agencies/regulators as needed.
    This role is located at the Cote Gold Mine Site reporting to the Superintendent, IT OT.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Support the operation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the site's machine control and automation model, covering both mobile equipment and fixed infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with business units, Technical Services, and IT to understand requirements and ensure alignment across mining methods, systems integration, and digital infrastructure.
  • Engage vendors and internal stakeholders (e.g., Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory) to align on technology direction, contract management, and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and automation outcomes.
  • Ensure strong governance practices, including risk management, change control, documentation, and knowledge management to sustain system performance.
  • Support development and deployment of integrated automation systems, including onboard technologies, communications, data analytics, and supporting training and documentation.
  • Provide operational support, including system upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives, stakeholder communication, and training/coaching to site personnel.
  • Track, measure, and report value delivery through defined KPIs, ensuring outcomes are captured and reflected in Technical Services reporting.

    Key Skills & Knowledge:
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Post Graduate qualification in maintenance, reliability, robotics/automation/electronics or business administration is desirable.
  • Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies would be considered an asset.
     Relevant Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, sustaining, and continuously improving mine control and automation technologies in hardrock open pit operations, aligned with strategic roadmaps.
  • Strong project and change management capability, including proof-of-concept execution, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and delivery of operational technology improvements.
  • Deep technical expertise in open pit mining equipment automation and control systems, supported by strong data analysis skills and effective collaboration with IT.

Salary Range: $89,000-$133,500
The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
