Job description

Our physician's office is seeking a Registered Nurse to work full-time in our Hematology Oncology clinic. The RN will coordinate nursing care for patients while in the clinical environment. They will participate in patient and family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:ย  assessing the patient systematically, utilizing the assessment data to plan appropriate nursing care, obtaining pertinent physical and psychosocial problems and using this as a tool in implementing patient care, and identifying the learning needs of patients and family members. The applicant must have a current license to practice in Louisiana and previous oncology experience is recommended.ย  The individual selected for this position will be required to attend a hospital-wide and a department-focused orientation upon hire.
