In this role, you will assist the physicians and ARNP's in conducting clinical trials. The registered nurse is required to have an in-depth knowledge of protocol requirements and good clinical practices as set forth by federal regulations. This role is responsible for collecting, processing, storing, and handling clinical specimens (as needed). Additionally, the RN will schedule subjects for study visits and collect, record, and file clinical research data. The research nurse will gather medical data that applies to clinical research, as well as screen, enroll and follow study subjects, ensuring protocol compliance and close monitoring while the subjects are in study alongside the investigator.

The Job
  • Address subject medical needs and concerns through effective communication to the research site team.
  • Compile, review, and asses clinical data
  • Assist in clinical procedures/surgical procedures
  • Perform vital signs, place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer intravenous infusions per protocol
  • Assemble IV pumps, prep tubing and medications
  • Look for trends in laboratory results and notify investigators as needed
  • Review the study design and inclusion/exclusion criteria with the PI or Sub-I
  • Review and verify all relevant source documentation in the subject's medical record if available and applicable to confirm study eligibility
  • Review the study and its requirements, informed consent form, and follow-up procedures with potential study subjects
  • Review laboratory data and communicate abnormal values to the PI or Sub-I and primary care provider if appropriate
  • Compile clinical data & review and assess data collected
  • Monitor, record and report adverse symptoms and changes in subject's conditions
  • Looks for trends in Laboratory results and notify investigators as needed
  • Dispense and administer medications and treatment
  • Other tasks as directed by Investigators, Director of Operations and Supervisors
Requirements
  • At a minimum, must be a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
  • Must have effective communication skills (written and verbal) and be computer literate with accurate typing skills
  • Must possess knowledge of medical and scientific terminology
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
