Job description

This position is responsible for performing all aspects of entry - level mechanics and higher levels of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs. Functions: Minor electrical repairs such as switches, solenoids, heater bands, relays, contractors, starters, and pyro-meters. Hydraulic repairs, oil leaks, pilot valves, and cylinders, hydraulic hoses and tubing lines. Basic hydraulic circuit modification. Able to replace toggle pins and links, guide rods, bushings, tie bars, setting tie bar strain. Rebuilding of pumps with limited supervisor guidance. Repair directional valves and flow controls. Complete command of mold setting, operation settings, and perform all safety checks. Basic welding and cutting projects, including torches and power tools. Performs appropriate cleaning of press tie bars, ways, and drop area to prevent grease and oil related rejections. Maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear. Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal. When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.
