Job description

The Dollar Tree Risk Management Team doesn't simply work together; we challenge each other to push further, think smarter, and love what we're doing together. Our shared purpose is to mitigate risk of loss to the enterprise through insurance, claims management and consultative partnership with business owners. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, self-directed contributor able to manage competing priorities, take ownership of work, and consistently follow through in a fast-paced environment.

The Claims Assistant is a support role for the Risk Management team. This role partners with internal and external stakeholders to keep the processes flowing. The primary responsibility is to support the team's efforts for claims resolution and cost mitigation strategies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance

Works independently onsite with a problem-solving positive attitude and maintains confidentiality of materials at all times.

  • Supports claims resolutions by collecting relevant business documents required.
  • Accesses and pulls video
  • Cross trains with other departmental activities as needed.
  • Serves as an engaged team member to actively identify and recommend additional opportunities for improvement of the total cost of risk.
  • Ensures highest level of customer service with internal and external business partners while providing timely support.
  • Maintains logs of data and/or reports related to claims support.

Assists department with triage of claim calls, emails and mail.

Assists in general department support and administrative duties, such as filing, sorting, etc.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Risk Management leaders.
