About the Role
As an Underwriter at Biz2Credit, you will play a vital role in evaluating loan applications and assisting with the underwriting process.
We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at the Miami Office. In this role, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive financial analysis on small businesses, including trend and ratio analysis. Your expertise will be crucial in interpreting financial information to assess credit quality and cash flow, enabling us to make informed lending decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility and creditworthiness of borrowers.
  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, tax returns, and other relevant data to assess risk and make informed lending decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence and verify accuracy of information provided by applicants.
  • Responsible for full cycle underwriting of assigned small business financing.
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting team to identify potential red flags and mitigate risk.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including Relationship Managers, to gather necessary information and clarify requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of underwriting decisions and findings.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Previous experience in underwriting, credit analysis, or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports.
  • Knowledge of underwriting principles, lending regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
