Job description

Summary: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Department Supervisor, the Janitor cleans the offices, building (locker rooms, lunchrooms, hallways etc.) in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Work Experience Needed: No work experience required as this is an entry-level role. One to three years of verifiable work history and exposure to working in a manufacturing or foundry environment is preferred. Forklift experience is also preferred.
Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
  • Reading Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Equipment Selection – Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Forklift experience is preferred (Drives forklift daily to take out trash)
Nature amp; Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities: The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management deem necessary from time to time.
  1. Perform general cleanup of all areas including offices, labs, locker rooms, toilets and floors according to departmental procedures.
  2. Utilizes vacuum, mop, and other clean up equipment and supplies.
  3. Daily removing trash and garbage, dusting furniture, filling dispensers, etc.
  4. Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the purchasing agent of low inventories
  5. Assist with maintaining the grounds, picking up trash and yard work as assigned.
  6. Accurately clocks in and out of job tasks using the companies ERP system.
  7. Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders.
  8. Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
  9. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  10. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  11. Complete special projects as assigned.
