Zurich North America is currently hiring an Underwriting Account Service Associate to join the {Insert Major Unit} team! As an Underwriting Account Service Associate, you will support and work closely with experienced Underwriters in the review and analysis of risks. You will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your research and analytical skills to effectively assess risk and grow your career.

This is a hybrid work position, however, the candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report into one of the following North American office locations: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Owings Mills, MD; or Seattle, WA.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Works under close Underwriter and Manager supervision to handle end-to-end bond administration, responding to basic agent/broker servicing requests to help ensure delivery of excellent service. Accountable for entry level bond servicing for basic to moderately complex business. 
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of relevant systems, processes, procedures of business segment(s) supported.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of broker/agent needs and ensures they are met within span of influence; Responds to inquiries, escalating issues and communicating with appropriate team members to obtain information as needed; Ensures timely and accurate invoicing, acting as the primary UW Team contact for billing questions and disputes.
  • Performs end-to-end bond administration on basic to moderately complex business including but not limited to:

New Bond Rate/Quote requests

New bond entry

All other service requests including billing inquiries.

  • Observes basic file documentation procedures including maintaining quality bond notes and ensuring complete file documentation.
  • Understands and communicates availability of external facing self-service capabilities (ZSE)

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area
    OR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area
    OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area
    AND

  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis

  • Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance industry knowledge

  • Knowledge of processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Superior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and coworkers

  • Customer service experience

  • Enjoys working with details and providing accurate data in a timely manner

  • Self-directed to meet deadlines

  • Multi-tasking skills

  • 5% Travel

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. For this position, the hourly is $23.80 - $38.94, plus a short-term incentive bonus of 5%.
