This is a highly skilled professional position which will support both the Dietetic Internship Program and Community Nutrition Services Program in Pasco County. The incumbent is expected to promote cooperation, courtesy, and teamwork. As an employee of the Department of Health in Pasco County, incumbent shall represent the agency and its mission and values, maintain a courteous and cooperative relationship with staff and the public, and adhere to all departmental policy/procedures, state and federal laws governing participant information, security and privacy.

Serve as the Pasco Regional Coordinator for the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County Dietetic Internship. Assures ACEND accreditation standards, policies, and procedures are met utilizing data driven decisions for the Pasco Region. Coordinate the curriculum map of the didactic components and supervised practice in Pasco region. Recruit and collaborate with preceptors and practices sites. Mentor students to attain core competencies for entry level dietetic practice and develop improvement plans for students identified at risk. Maintain DI program documentation including but not limited to program evaluation, student evaluation and grades, preceptor credentials, and facility agreements for the Pasco Region. Teach profession-specific courses in the program, review and grade assignments and exams. Precept as needed. Participate in activities for professional growth and continued competence as a dietetics professional and educator. Provide scheduled dietary assessment, education and counseling to homebound and congregate care clients according to the established Elderly Nutrition Program guidelines. Develop and maintain client schedules, charting, and documentation. Provide appropriate healthcare and other referrals as part of customer-focused service delivery. Has responsibility for the privacy and security of client information and medical/ nutrition records. Conduct quarterly site visit inspections, annual employee training, attend advisory council meetings, complete menu reviews, and report food service complaints. Participate in billing for nutrition services. Attend regular staff meetings and trainings and travel as needed. Complete and submit time sheets, EARS, and travel correctly and according to established division and agency guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to plan, direct and ensure proper completion of work of others. Ability to organize work and control use of time. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to collect and analyze data, evaluate program performance in relation to both quantitative and qualitative standards, identify problem areas and recommend reasonable changes. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships among diverse disciplines and a variety of individuals and groups including public officials, professional organizations, community groups and the media to secure cooperation and participation of a broad range of stakeholders in program development and implementation. Ability to network, recruit, and train program partners and participants. Ability to provide effective and efficient customer-service and resolve complaints. Ability to develop and implement nutrition education plans and supporting materials. Demonstrated leadership skills. Demonstrated skill and proficiency in standard business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Knowledge of the science, principles, practices and application of normal and therapeutic nutrition throughout the lifecycle. Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.

Qualifications: Minimum: Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes, or be eligible to practice dietetics in accordance with Chapter 21M, Section 48.001, 48.002, or 48.003, Florida Administrative Code and must be a Registered Dietitian. Must be currently licensed by the state of Florida as a Dietitian/Nutritionist and must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Grant Requires at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in dietetics and/or nutrition. Must have a valid FL Driver's License. Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in dietetics and/or nutrition. Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
