Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Export Control : This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
In this role you will be a key member of the team providing the tools and systems needed to design, build, and operate the organization's services. You will own and operate infrastructure critical to Amazon Leo including engineering applications, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, and local servers. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of delivering large-scale engineering projects. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
Key job responsibilities
- Design build and maintain infrastructure as code for our hybrid-cloud Siemens engineering applications
- Monitor system performance, ensuring uptime, scalability, and reliability of applications and Infrastructure
- Analyze current infrastructure capacity and forecast future needs to support organizational growth.
- Day to day support of existing Siemens applications on AWS and on-premise
- Automate Siemens deployment and administration of Siemens engineering tools
- Drive an environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence,
- Anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs, and encourage risk-taking to maximize business benefit
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings

As part of Amazon Leo Enterprise Technology team you will further deepen your technical expertise and proficiency in systems design, navigate operational challenges of a highly available system under load, and hone your skills as a leader and communicator. You will collaborate with and learn from some of the strongest software, security, and infrastructure engineers in the industry, and leverage Amazon's ample resources to innovate on behalf of our customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
