As a Shop Equipment Operator – 2nd Shift, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where craftsmanship, precision, and pride in your work are valued every day. In this skilled role, you'll operate a wide range of material processing equipment—including CNC Press Brakes, Manual Press Brakes, Hydraulic Shears, CNC Lasers, Plasma Tables, Band Saws, Python machines, Tiger Stops, Iron Workers, and Plate Rolls—to accurately shape and prepare various metals like steel, aluminum, stainless, and galvanized materials. You’ll use your knowledge of fabrication, rigging, and material handling to cut, bend, and form structural shapes for a variety of industrial and commercial projects. With tiered advancement based on the number and complexity of machines you can operate proficiently, this position offers excellent opportunities to grow. - Safely and efficiently operate assigned equipment
- Read, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirements
- Facilitate setups and changeovers within machine capacities
- Secure work pieces and operate stops and guides for proper alignment
- Monitor machine functions during operation to ensure accurate output within tolerance requirements
- Perform quality checks during production to ensure part/piece meets tolerance requirements
Working Conditions
- Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
- Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Step up and climb onto machines
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Perform duties indoors in a shop setting with occasional work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Previous relevant equipment operating experience preferred
- Must possess strong math skills including adding, subtracting, decimals and fractions
- Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, protractors, compasses, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
- Possess working knowledge of basic blueprints and drawings
- Ability to operate a variety of shop metal working equipment preferred
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial shop setting
