Job Description

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the safe repair and rejuvenation of medium to high voltage underground cables using Novinium's patented technology and processes.

Responsibilities
Safety
Work safely with no electrical contact incidents or personal injuries
Enhance and advance a below zero incident safety culture and behavior
Comprehend and follow OSHA and company safety rules
Responsible for the safety of all people at a worksite
Craftwork
Operate TDR  waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations and neutral corrosion
Place and operate cable injection equipment on de-energized and energized cables in transformers, switchgear, junction boxes and at other cable end points
Perform air flow tests
Prepare cable for injection activities, including electrical craftwork according to quality standards
Inject URD and feeder cables with Novinium patented repair/rejuvenation fluids using sustained and un-sustained rejuvenation technologies
Provide field service and set up injection equipment
Switch medium voltage electrical circuits
Write and implement cable switching orders, manage switching contact with circuit owner
Climb poles to perform work if needed
Carry out other duties as assigned
Project Management
May coordinate injection and digging activities (competency in excavation)
Maintain rolling stock and equipment
Select Injection Adapters, and cable accessories
Assist Team Leader with job planning, hazard avoidance, and recording daily work records
Operate company vehicles and equipment, including bucket trucks, as required
Customer Relations
Provide positive customer service

Requirements
Relevant work experience as a Lineman, Class A Lineman, Class B Lineman, First Class Power Lineman, or Cable Splicer with current certification or documentation
Experience with underground line work, including URD, fault location and repair, and switching
Strong Lineman underground craftwork skills, including inline splices, terminations and elbows
Ability to read circuit maps
Basic computer skills and entry level proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, internet/web)
Understanding of basic construction skills
Strong mechanical skills
Familiarity with URD systems and cables, fault repair and switching
Safe work record and a firm commitment to safety
Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record
CDL preferred
Passport and ability to travel to Canada preferred

Working Conditions
Able and willing to travel on a regular basis
Able to safely climb poles if needed
Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 ft. 
Able to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time
Must be able to fit into a confined space rescue harness
Must conduct digging operations as required
Frequent sitting, standing and walking
Frequent exposure to seasonal elements
Conditions may vary based on assignment
