Project Implementation Engineer

EFJohnson Technologies is a subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD Corporation, a leading provider of P25 communications solutions for first responders in public safety and public service, the federal government, and industrial organizations. Our products are marketed under the EFJohnson and KENWOOD brands.


EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products.

As a Project Implementation Engineer, youโ€™ll work under the general supervision of the Manager, Implementation Engineering to provide implementation support for new LMR system deployment, meeting customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with customers under the authorization of the Program Manager to facilitate effective system implementation tasks.
  • Communicate with all appropriate departments and key personnel regarding initial system design, features, capabilities, and implementation schedule.
  • Install, program, and configure two-way radio system components, repeaters, receive multicouplers, combiners, antenna systems, power systems, and dispatch equipment for P25 and Analog LMR systems.
  • Configure, test, and align duplexers and other RF subsystem devices.
  • Set up, configure, and utilize testing equipment to complete device set up and system tests.
  • Perform site installation quality analysis and document areas of nonconformance.
  • Prepare system implementation drawing packages, site installation, and site acceptance test reports.
  • Perform system coverage testing.
  • Interpret circuit, wiring, and system diagrams or schematics.
  • Effectively accept and complete special assignments and projects as directed.
  • Constantly project a positive demeanor and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Establish and maintain effective external and internal communications, exhibiting the highest level of credibility with co-workers and customers. Regard as both internal and external customers.
  • Exhibit desirable and appropriate professional behavior including, sense of urgency, independent judgement, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals.
  • Participate in the testing of software and new products and provide feedback to Engineering.
  • Complete additional duties as required.
  • Agree to abide by the established Approval Matrix.



Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-year technical degree in electronics or related field. Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Experience normally associated with at least two years installing and servicing LMR communications equipment.

  • Understanding of electronics and RF principles.
  • Knowledge of system and RF resting equipment, network topologies and protocols, and conventional and trunked radio systems.

  • Proven ability to manage time effectively.

  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed documentation and reports relating to system implementation.
