This position involves assisting with equipment setup, sample collection, maintenance, and general site duties. Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, operation, and teardown of RC drilling rigs and equipment
- Handle drill rods, hammers, and tooling during drilling operations
- Support sample collection, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage
- Assist with operation of compressors, boosters, and air systems
- Mix and manage drilling fluids when required
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of drilling equipment
- Load and unload equipment, tools, and supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite, following all safety protocols
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and leveling drill pads
- Monitor equipment and report mechanical issues to the RC Driller
- Follow instructions from the Driller and work effectively as part of a crew
- Help manage consumables such as bits, rods, and sample bags
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in drilling, mining, construction, or similar field is an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting 50+ lbs regularly)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Ability to work long hours in outdoor and remote environments
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Valid driver's license preferred (CDL a plus)
- Safety certifications (First Aid/CPR, MSHA/OSHA, H2S) are advantageous
